How Does It Work?
If you want to improve the volume of your lips or reduce wrinkles and deep lines around the mouth, you may be a good candidate for lip injections. The procedure usually lasts about 20 to 30 minutes, and the results will be seen immediately, lasting for up to one year before another lip filler procedure is needed. If you are looking for some dramatic results, you can ask for a combination of a dermal filler with Anti-Wrinkle Neuromodulator like Botox CosmeticĀ®.
Our staff has extensive experience in treating our clients who are seeking to revamp their look. We help you make an informed decision before trying fillers. Call today for an initial consultation.
Individual consultation is required to determine how many syringes will be needed to achieve the desired outcome.
Lip Filler FAQs
What are the side effects?
You may experience swelling and bruising after lip injections. We recommend taking over-the-counter arnica starting 2 days prior to your treatment to help minimize this. Continue taking arnica by mouth for at least 2 days after your treatment, or until the bruising is completely resolved. We also highly recommend Alastin’s INhance post-injection serum. It has arnica and other natural healing properties; we keep it stocked it in the office for your convenience. It is recommended to ice the lips as much as you can for the first 2 days. If you have any discomfort, Tylenol is your friend. Avoid aspirin or NSAIDS like ibuprofen as these may thin the blood causing a worsening of the bruising. Consider keeping your lips hydrated with vitamin E oil for the first few days following the lip enhancement procedure, as well as using only a gentle cleanser.
However, there is no need to be alarmed as such side effects are completely normal. Both the bruising and swelling should lessen by day two after the lip injections.
How many treatments will I need?
That depends on your type of lips and lip line. If you have naturally thin lips, you may need to take a few sessions to achieve the alluring lips you desire.
What should I do after this procedure?
It is recommended you apply ice once you get home to prevent swelling and bruising.Ā
